Salt of The Earth Ltd., part of the Arison Group, operates in the industrial, financial and real-estate areas. The industrial activities are handled by the Salt of The Earth Eilat, Israel’s major producer of salt since 1922. Salt of The Earth Eilat produces and sells salt to the industry and to the retail market, locally and in the export markets.

Since its inception, Salt of The Earth Ltd. has been committed to maintaining the equilibrium between industry and the environment. The pool area have been preserved as nature reserves, islands of greenery, hosting many species of animals and combining bird-watching and nature activities through setting up lookout points as well as habitation and nesting areas for thousands of waterfowls and migratory birds, the company cooperates with the Israel Nature & National Parks Protection Authority in the protection of sea turtles, and more.

The industrial activity

Israel Salt Company has two production facilities, in Atlit and Eilat. The company produces different series of products which are suited to different target audiences:

“Retail Packages” – These are the packages under which the company produces and sells the salt known as table salt and cooking salt.

“Salt of the Earth” – this brand was launched in 2008, and includes a wide variety of sea salt products.
• “Salt of the Earth” dry sea salt which contains salt in stylish salt shakers as well as in jars which are convenient for storage and use.
• “Salt of the earth – tastes of the world” – a gourmet series offering salt in various tastes and colors.

• Functional salts – targeted for focal consumers oriented on health and life quality.
• Industrial salts – salts with different chemical qualities and crystal sizes, providing a response for various industrial needs, from the food industry – koshering of meat, salt solutions for cheese-making, pickles etc. – to various industries such as water softening, leather tanning, the plastics industry, drilling etc.
